We look forward to having you do a clinical rotation with us at the University of Chicago Section of Dermatology! Our Section is focused on delivering high quality general and specialty dermatology care to our patient base. Our patient population is quite diverse, hailing from all cultural and socio-economic backgrounds; our catchment area stretches from the suburbs of Chicago to northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan.

Interested third and fourth year medical students can rotate through the Section via either a two or four week elective in outpatient dermatology or inpatient consultative dermatology. The outpatient dermatology elective offers exposure to a wide breadth of general dermatology as well as specialty clinics (e.g. autoimmune skin disease clinic, hair disorders clinic, pediatric dermatology clinic, pigmented lesions clinic) and dermatopathology signout. The inpatient consultative dermatology elective offers an intensive exposure to inpatient complex medical dermatology as well as the clinical follow-up of patients after discharge.
